A leaker claims to know the technical characteristics of the Google Pixel 7a. Here is the list.
Google will hit hard again this year. Although the Android developer’s sales are relatively small compared to those of Samsung, Apple or Xiaomi, the Mountain View brand is gaining esteem among a tech-savvy audience. Above all, its excellent value for money is praised, both in its main range and in its more affordable “a” range.
In 2023, the Pixel 7a is expected and already promises to correct the main flaw of its predecessor by integrating a 90 Hz screen. And the rest of its technical sheet could be just as interesting to believe a recent tweet from leaker Debayan Roy, who still should be taken with caution.
A start of technical sheet for the Pixel 7a
Someone who calls themselves GadgetsData on Twitter has posted a preliminary spec sheet for the Pixel 7a.

According to him, Google’s next smartphone would feature a 6.1-inch Full HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, the same Tensor G2 chip as the Pixel 7, a 64MP IMX787 main sensor with optical stabilization, and an ultra-wide 12MP wide angle. On the memory side, there would be RAM in LPDDR5 format and UFS 3.1 storage, the latest technologies currently available. Of course, Google obliges, Android 13 would be there, with the guarantee that Android 14 will roll out as soon as it’s released. He also specifies that IP certification is planned, which is not surprising since the 2022 model is already IP67.
Finally, this generation would bring another novelty: the presence of wireless charging, absent in the Pixel 6a. With a power of 5 Watts on the other hand, it will take the patience of an iPhone user to recharge this wireless phone.
Aside from the information about the camera (a previous rumor mentioned three sensors), this datasheet broadly corroborates previous rumors about the Pixel 7a. With just a few weeks to go before the final reveal, therefore, it seems to be becoming increasingly clear.

At the moment, Google has yet to communicate on its Pixel 7a, but we can expect it to be announced at Google I/O in May. Whether its pricing will remain as aggressive as usual remains to be seen. The Pixel 6a went on sale at 459 euros, but is currently at 339 euros in the Google Store.
