Yamaha launches the big engine to take on Bose, Sony and Apple

Yamaha has just introduced its new Bluetooth noise canceling headphones, the YH-E700B. A helmet that is positioned as a spearhead against Bose, Sony or Apple.

Yamaha is not just a maker of pianos, recorders or sports bikes. The manufacturer has also made a name for itself in the field of consumer audio with not just speakers, but headphones and earphones as well.

It is precisely in this last sector that the manufacturer announced this week a great novelty, the Yamaha YH-E700B. This is a new premium Bluetooth headset with Active Noise Canceling feature. Like Apple’s AirPods Max, the Sony WH-1000XM5, the Bose Headphones 700 or the Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2, the new Yamaha YH-E700B are positioned in the high-end segment of headphones with many features offered.

Obviously, for sound reproduction, the headphones are equipped with 40mm diameter dynamic drivers with low distortion -less than 1% in the range from 500 to 10,000Hz- thanks to a diaphragm with two layers of laminated film. The headset is also compatible with the Bluetooth audio codecs SBC and AAC, but also with Qualcomm’s aptX Adaptive, with a frequency response of 8 to 40,000 Hz. The Japanese manufacturer also indicates that it has Bluetooth version 5.2 integrated, for the sound transmission up to 10 meters We will also find the Google Fast Pair protocol for fast pairing with an Android smartphone.

Active Noise Canceling Bluetooth Headphones

The Yamaha YH-E700B also includes active noise reduction features in addition to its passive isolation due to the circumaural format: the ear cups span the ear. Yamaha also promises the integration of an ambient sound mode to perceive the sounds around you thanks to the different microphones used. Finally, there are also certain functions specific to Yamaha headphones and headphones such as Listening Care Advanced -to maintain a tonal balance, whatever the volume- or Concept True Sound -for a faithful reproduction of the sound produced.

Regarding the autonomy of its YH-E700B, Yamaha announces up to 32 hours of use in noise reduction mode. The headphones also benefit from a 3.5mm jack for connecting via cable to a source. Charging is done via USB-C.

The Yamaha YH-E700B headphones will be available in March in two colors: black or beige. It will go on sale at a price of 399 euros.
