Electric scooters have invaded our urban landscapes for several years to the delight of fans of soft mobility. It must be said that these vehicles are very practical to avoid traffic jams or the hell of public transport. Among the most affordable models is the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 3, whose price is currently 349 euros instead of 449 euros in the official store.

In the electric scooter market, two Chinese brands stand out at the top of the basket: Ninebot and Xiaomi. It is Xiaomi that is also the largest seller of electric scooters in the world, with a range of models accessible for all prices and that is periodically renewed. Among the most affordable references we find the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 3 Lite, which currently benefits from a discount of 100 euros on the official website of the brand.

The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 3 Lite in some points

  • Top speed at 25 km/h
  • Only 13 kg on the scale
  • An announced autonomy of 20 km

Instead of the usual 449 euros, the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 3 Lite is now available for sale for 349 euros in the official store. Simply add it to your basket to qualify for the 100 euro discount.

A lighter version with some new features.

A few months ago, Xiaomi released the Electric Scooter 3 Lite, a lighter and more affordable version of the Mi Electric Scooter 3 released the year before. If Lite is in the name, it will obviously have to go through compromises compared to the original model. On the other hand, the dimensions have been reduced very little, the weight goes from 13.2 kg to 13 kg for example and the Lite scooter is even bigger by 20 cm with a thinner aluminum frame.

The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 3 Lite still has some improvements, starting with a bigger and brighter screen. You can also always use it with the dedicated app on your smartphone to monitor your driving data. The folding system has also been simplified with a connecting buckle. As for the tray, it continues to support a maximum weight of 100 kg and has been widened by one centimeter.

Holds but is less efficient than its older sister

This scooter is powered by a 300W motor, but it handles slopes worse than the Mi Electric Scooter 3, the latter can climb slopes up to 16% while the Lite is limited to 14% slopes. In driving it can reach the legal limit of 25 km/h but we regret less effective braking, this being managed by a lever on the handlebars and a drum brake at the rear.

The speed can be adjusted in three modes: pedestrian mode at 6 km/h, standard mode at 15 km/h and sport mode at 25 km/h. Finally, the biggest compromise has been made in terms of autonomy, the Electric Scooter 3 Lite has a 5,200 mAh battery instead of the 7,650 mAh of its predecessor. The autonomy is announced by the manufacturer at 20 km, but it depends on several factors (speed, slopes, driver’s weight, weather), so bet on a good 15 km. However, for a scooter that’s cheaper than the original model, it’s still fair.
