Meta has announced a major price drop for its Meta Quest virtual or mixed reality headset. A fact a few months after the launch of Meta Quest Pro and when Mark Zuckerberg seems to doubt his project.
Just a few months after the release of Meta Quest Pro and the company-wide name change from Facebook to Meta, Mark Zuckerberg seems to believe a lot less in his project. The entrepreneur, in fact, has announced the creation of a new team and resources now dedicated to… artificial intelligence. The dream of a great band-orchestrated metaverse seems to be fading for now.
Meanwhile, the firm announces a major price drop for its various Meta headphones.
Up to $500 off
It’s no good being an early adopter of the Meta Quest Pro. The high-end headset that offers mixed reality features launched at $1,499.99 in late 2022. It will now be offered at $999.99, which is a $500 discount from anyway.
The Meta Quest 2 is also entitled to a price drop as the 256GB model drops from $499.99 to $429.99. Please note that this is not a promotional period, but rather new official prices for these two helmets.
This isn’t the first time Meta Quest 2 has changed its price. In the summer of 2022, the firm announced a price increase for its helmets. You definitely seem to have a hard time deciding your prices.
When will the price drop in France?
If the price drop is announced in dollars, it also worries France, Switzerland and Belgium. The Meta Quest 2 price change comes into effect now, actually from March 5th.
On the other hand, the price drop for Meta Quest Pro is announced for March 15. Therefore, we will have to be a little patient.
