Since the last Google I/O conference, the maker of the future Pixel Tablet has been optimizing the Google app experience on touch tablets in small steps. Google’s Discover feature gets a new design, with more content displayed.
Last year, during Google I/O, the web giant unveiled the highly anticipated Pixel Tablet, which is part of our expectations for Google in 2023. Since then, Google has been updating its apps on the tablets, we imagine to refine the user experience of your future model. It’s the turn of Discover (formerly Google Feed), Google’s app content discovery feature, to qualify for some modifications.
Three Article Columns in Google Discover
The most notable change concerns the flow of articles: if before there were only two columns, Discover now increases to three. While the news article titles are roughly the same size as before, the illustration images are slightly smaller.

Also, the items were contained in a single box: now, each one is stored on a kind of card. If the width is the same, the height is not the same according to the lines. The only novelty that is missing: the Material You style, a function that appeared in Android 12 and that allows you to synchronize the colors of the application with those of the wallpaper.
A slightly different Google Discover experience on the Pixel tablet
According to the media 9to5Google, which detected the changes made by Google, the Discover experience on the Pixel tablet may not be entirely similar. We could see the appearance of suggested media rows” from your applications ”, such as Google TV.
We can also imagine content from SVoD services, or evencloud gamingshown in this section. We can also think that Material You would finally make its arrival, which would make the Pixel Experience even more cohesive.
