Realme has confirmed the presentation date of its new Realme GT Neo 5. The device will arrive on February 9 with its new 240 W (hyper) fast charging.
Launched as the summer of 2022 approaches in our latitudes, the Realme GT Neo 3 will have a replacement very soon, at least in Asia. As reported by the Iberian site download androidIn fact, Realme has formalized a presentation date for its new GT Neo 5. The device will be unveiled in China on February 9 at 7 am in France (2 pm local time). Realme’s announcement is also accompanied by confirmation that this new smartphone will be the first on the market to be equipped with 240W fast charging.
As a reminder, this recharge is based on SuperVooc technology, developed by Oppo (Realme’s parent company)… and which theoretically allows a battery of around 4500 mAh to be recharged in just 9 minutes on the mains.
Realme GT Neo 5: what to expect?
If the exact technical sheet of this new Realme GT Neo 5 is not yet specified, we still know a little more about this fast charge. Realme explains, for example, that it will be based, among other things, on a custom cable (to support 12 amps), but also on a dual GaN charger (to offer maximum compactness) and on a rather complex security and cooling system.
For the rest, we should find a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor coupled with a maximum of 16 GB of RAM, and up to 1 TB of storage. According to slightly older leaks, the device would be available in two versions: the first would be limited to 150 W fast charging, but equipped with a 5000 mAh battery. While the second would benefit from the full 240 W, but with a capacity of 4600 mAh “only” in terms of battery.
The device would finally be equipped with a 144 Hz AMOLED panel with a 6.7-inch diagonal, and would have three rear photosensors, including a 50 Mpx main module. The set would also come with Android 13. More details will come in just over a week.
