An Apple Watch Series 4 reviewed
Apple took a lot of inspiration from the Apple Watch Series 4 for the design of its recent Apple Watch SE. Thus we end up with a screen with rounded edges of 40 mm on each side. The Cupertino company has made the curved and edge-to-edge screen saver here, as well as the Always On. That said, if aesthetic concessions are necessary, the Apple brand redeems itself in performance. Fortunately, the rotating crown stays in place. The chassis is made exclusively of aluminium, which in no way detracts from its comfort and excellent ergonomics.
The Apple Watch SE thus sports a 1.78-inch OLED screen with a definition of 448 x 368 pixels and a weight of 26.4 g. The brightness is simply amazing at 1,000 nits. This model has the particularity of having a screen that adjusts to ambient light. Readability remains excellent in direct sunlight, and at night, its brightness softens. It’s just a daily pleasure. In addition, it is IP68 certified.
More than a smart watch
Even lightened, the Apple Watch SE sets the bar very high in terms of performance thanks, in particular, to watchOS 9. The connected watch synchronizes perfectly and only with your smartphone, here only iPhone. So you can answer your SMS vocally, control the music and its volume, launch applications, etc. Digital Crown will make it easy for you to navigate through the menus of the connected watch.
This model comes loaded with sensors of all kinds: GPS, compass, altimeter, accelerometer, heart rate sensor, ambient light sensor, sleep analysis, etc. This gives you accurate and valuable data about your health, sleep and performance. Of course, the device recognizes the main sports disciplines. Finally, we have a range of two days in intensive use and it takes an hour to fully recharge it.
