The Samsung Galaxy A53 offers excellent mid-range performance. And, even with the imminent arrival of its successor, it is still a very good investment. It is even sold at a reduced price: 349 euros compared to 459 euros at its launch.

Samsung’s Galaxy A range is known for its good value for money. Abroad, the South Korean firm would increase the price of its next accessible smartphones, including the A54. Therefore, it is even more interesting to turn to the Samsung Galaxy A53, a smartphone that received a score of 9/10 during our test. It therefore has all the arguments to be a solid investment for the future and a very good choice, especially when the latter is trading at 110 euros less than when it was released.

A solid choice to accompany you on a day-to-day basis
In the Galaxy A53, without aesthetic crazy things, the smartphone is first designed to give you a good grip. Its flat edges and the rather light weight of 189 g are not in vain. Samsung once again demonstrates its on-screen know-how: its 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel is a feast for the eyes with very high maximum brightness, excellent contrast, and a rich color palette. It has a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth daily browsing.
On the animation side, the A53 is based on the Exynos 1280 chip, accompanied by 8 GB of RAM. It’s not the fastest on the market, but it’s fine for everyday use, but for more intense gaming use, it’s a bit tight. We especially appreciate you taking advantage of four years of major updates and five years of security updates. Otherwise, it offers a smooth and pleasant user experience and already runs on Samsung’s new interface, OneUI 5, under Android 13 via an update.
A durable smartphone, pretty good at photography.
With its 5,000 mAh battery, the phone offers two days of autonomy in moderate use, a day and a half in intense use. The only drawback: it doesn’t come with fast charging, which is probably the most disappointing point. In addition to not being included in the box, the 25 W charger can recover more than half of the battery in 30 minutes. That’s quite a while compared to other competitors like the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G.
Finally, it delivers great benefits with its camera made up of four lenses. We are entitled to a 64-megapixel main sensor with optical stabilization, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle, a 5-megapixel macro, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. Overall, it delivers good shots and offers good versatility, even if the night mode lacks a bit of precision. The macro sensor is not very useful. It stands out for offering a very successful portrait mode for this price range.
