If the Samsung Galaxy S23 has just been released, its predecessor, the S22, is still a safe bet. Even now it becomes even more recommendable thanks to its price, which goes from 809 euros to 519 euros in SFR and RED by SFR. It’s only a few euros more than the new Galaxy A54 released today.

Earlier this year, Samsung introduced its new Galaxy S23. However, this long-awaited release does not mean that its predecessor, the Galaxy S22, is already out of date, quite the contrary. The former flagship of the brand, equipped with a 120 Hz screen and good power, remains a reference that we highly recommend. And, even more so at this time, since it costs the price of a good mid-range smartphone from 2023.
The highlights of the Samsung Galaxy S22
- A 6.1-inch OLED panel updated at 120 Hz
- A powerful Exynos 2200 chip
- A versatile photographic module
Initially offered at 809 euros, the Samsung Galaxy S22 can now cost you just 519 euros in SFR and RED in SFR thanks to a discount doubled by an ODR of 100 euros, valid until April 30, 2023.

where to buy the
Samsung Galaxy S22 at the best price?
An OLED screen that has its small effect
Who says premium smartphone, says (usually) ultra-clean finishes. The Samsung Galaxy S22 accomplishes this mission with its smooth fingerprint-resistant glass back, its aluminum edge, or even its premium and highly refined overall look. The S22 also has the advantage of being quite compact with its 6.1-inch screen, a diagonal that allows you to easily put the smartphone in your pocket.
But one of the main advantages of this design is still this AMOLED panel, framed by very thin edges, and endowed with a Full HD+ definition (2,340 x 1,080 pixels). This screen also benefits from an adaptive refresh rate that can go up to 120Hz, ensuring very smooth browsing and viewing. Everything is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, a very resistant glass.
Good power and a versatile photographic module
On the power side, the Galaxy S22 is powered by an Exynos 2200 SoC etched in 4nm (and 5G compatible), which offers good multitasking performance. Powerful applications will run smoothly. Unfortunately, the results are less good in terms of graphics performance, and some slowdowns are to be expected in certain games, such as Fortnite. Android 12, with the One UI 4 interface, promises a very smooth user experience.
What about your photography skills? It must be said that the Samsung Galaxy S22 scores points thanks to its three 50 + 12 + 10 megapixel sensors (wide angle, ultra wide angle and telephoto lens x3) located on the left edge of the device. The smartphone therefore provides great versatility, with special mention to the good level of detail that can be seen in the shots captured by the main sensor. In short, here we have a good photophone, even if its dynamic range management is sometimes uneven across various lenses, as we noticed during our test.
Average autonomy
One of the only drawbacks of the S22 is, in fact, its autonomy, as has already happened with other Galaxy S. In fact, its 3,700 mAh battery will not allow the smartphone to last a full day with intensive use. However, we can console ourselves with fast charging (up to 25 W) and wireless charging, which are present, but we must take care to have our charger nearby, just in case.
