DJI Mini 2 at the best price?

A light and easy to handle model

Unlike other drones aimed more at professionals or seasoned hobbyists, the DJI Mini 2 is ideal for the general public and beginners thanks to its compact size. In fact, it weighs only 249 grams, which will make it easily transportable and easy to handle. Special mention for its folding skeleton: once all four legs and propellers are deployed, the Mini 2 achieves a wingspan of just 15.9 centimeters x 20.3 centimeters. It almost looks like a toy, but it is a powerful drone that we have before our eyes.

Easy to carry, but also easy to control: To start the DJI Mini 2 experience, simply download the DJI Fly app, available on iOS and Android, then insert your smartphone into the controller with removable joysticks. A USB-C port will also be present, finally. In addition, the smartphone is fixed on the radio control by means of a sliding system, and is connected to it by means of a cable. one version Lightningmicro-USB and USB-C come with the Mini 2. Then you can get HD video feedback in flight.

Videos recorded in 4K

In flight, the DJI Mini 2 will be able to capture 4K video at 30 frames per second, while the first version only filmed in 2.7K. Enough to enjoy excellent image quality, reinforced by very good stability. The DJI Mini 2 also has powerful motors that will allow it to maintain its trajectory even if there is a wind. The new radio control and the patented OcuSync 2.0 transmission also offer a very pleasant flight experience. As regards OcuSync 2.0 precisely, this transmission system was already present in the brand’s high-end Mavic Air 2 and Mavic 2 drones. On paper, the Mini 2 is therefore capable of transmitting HD video streams up to 10km and being piloted up to an altitude of 4km, but make sure you keep the drone in sight – it’s mandatory in France. Especially since this drone does not have obstacle sensors, so having a clear view will always be better.

In flight, you can also take advantage of “smart” modes such as Spotlight 2.0, ActiveTrack 3.0 and Point of Interest 3.0. QuickShots and Hyperlapse modes will also be present. Regarding its autonomy, the DJI Mini 2 will be able to work for about 24 minutes, according to our test. If this duration seems short, it’s a good result for an entry-level drone intended for the general public.
