At Frandroid, everyone has clear opinions on various types of products, technologies, or other features. Opinions sometimes converge, but they are also opposed. That’s why we’ve compiled the top “Unpopular Opinions” from the editorial staff into a full-length second grade video.

« 120 Hz screens are useless ». « I don’t like smart watches ». « Google pixels are overrated“. Yes, in Frandroid, not everyone shares the same opinion about everything. Otherwise. Debates and oratory contests continue to mark our weeks during exchanges that are as benevolent as they are instructive.
The editorial video department had a blast compiling our top “Unpopular Opinions”, those points of view that could literally be described as unpopular, divisive, in a video full of second degree and bad faith, but mostly funny.
It is also an opportunity for us to take the temperature with our readers, through mini surveys that you will find below. Each survey corresponds to a unpopular opinion featured in the video.

Nintendo Switch is the best console
Titouan is categorical. For him, Nintendo Switch is the best console. And this, for various reasons: a price of less than 300 euros, a hybrid aspect, ideal for young and old -and a small Zelda Which closes the discussion. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X, of course, don’t fit in the same category both in terms of price and power. Ultimately, the goal is probably not the same.

I don’t care about smartphone security
Arnaud literally has none nothing to f** be » smartphone security. Because Arnaud is a beinggenerous in datas”, in his words. Cookies, photos, he feels no danger anywhere. An opinion that you may or may not share. After all, a smartphone can combine your bank card and vital card now. In short, a small digital wallet that surely should be well insured to avoid any mishap. On behalf of the entire editorial staff: don’t do like Arnaud.

I don’t like always-on mode
Always-on mode has been around for many years on Android smartphones. On the iPhone, it only appeared late, in September 2022 with the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max. But for Chloe, “it’s useless“. Just tap on your phone to check the time. So for you, is it ashould haveor a useless feature?

Touch ID is better than Face ID
For Robin, Apple’s Touch ID is much better than Face ID. Because after all, it is enough to put your finger in the place provided for this purpose to unlock the phone, even if it is flat on a table. While Face ID requires you to wear your iPhone at face level, unless you have a little stand that keeps it upright, hi Manu. And you, which team are you part of?

I don’t like smart watches
Omar is a loving man. But Omar doesn’t necessarily appreciate connected watches, ausablethat you don’t find really useful on a day-to-day basis. On the other hand, if you like to see data related to your health right at the end of your wrist, it can be very convenient for you. Just like paying contactless with Apple Pay or Google Pay, for example.

i hate samsung photos
It is well known. Samsung smartphones tend to clutter and renderostentatiousthe colors of the captured photos. This has the merit of having its small visual effect, to the detriment of a sometimes less natural final rendering. For Anthony, this is clearly unacceptable. And for you ? In any case, Samsung is used to winning our big photo comparison at the end of every year…

Voice assistants are useless
Do you use voice assistants on a daily basis, at home with your home automation or spontaneously with your phone? In any case, Guillaume considers them useless no matter what, between the relevance of their uses and the latency of certain assistants -Google is notably cited- to respond to a request. A topic that is debated, with us as probably with you.

Cassim is brave and does not hesitate to take on his little loves: he likes the Salto platform, which he considers a very good service, especially for watching programs liketop boss. All at a very reasonable price. However, according to the latest news, Salto should probably be gone in the near future.

Google pixels are too expensive
Are we doing too much with Google’s Pixel phones? Are we highlighting them too much? At least that’s what Titouan thinks, having found a lot of bugs in the release despite its excellent value for money. But above all, the number of major Android updates remains a big black spot: three years, when the competition (Samsung, Oppo, OnePlus) does better. So do you think pixels are too popular?

Android updates are better than iOS updates
Here’s one that really gets wet! For Manu, Android updates are better than iOS updates. In the collective imagination, one might think that Android phones are not as up-to-date as Apple’s. This isn’t necessarily the case, especially since many Android smartphone manufacturers are increasingly putting the bundle in this area.

Long battery life is better than fast charging
For Anthony, it is better to have a very durable smartphone, capable of lasting two days and limited to a slow charge, than a less autonomous phone, but with a fast charge. Except that yes, Anthony uses an iPhone 13 Pro Max considered one of the best in terms of autonomy. Finally, two schools oppose each other: it is up to each to choose their side.

Omar has it all figured out? You have two hours. The fact is that our deputy director feels grateful to the operator. Why ? Because it is thanks to him that our telephone plans are not expensive. In any case, they are much more affordable than anywhere else in Europe. “but it should work“Tituan blows.

I don’t care about 120hz on smartphones
It is useless judge Arnaud about the 120 Hz mode on smartphones. As a reminder, this refresh rate gives you that famously fluid feel to use. It arrived late on the iPhone -thanks to the ProMotion of the iPhone 13 Pro-, although it is already democratized on many Android phones. Once tested, definitely adopted? Up to you.
