Although Samsung no longer supports them, the Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S9 benefit from a ROM that allows the use of One UI 5.
If the Galaxy S9 and Note 9 have not been supported by Samsung since early 2022, this does not stop enthusiasts from trying to bring the latest versions of One UI. According XDAOne UI 5, still based on Android 13, has just been ported to both of Samsung’s former flagships.
To achieve this, you will have to install a ROM called Noble ROM, specialized in the S9, S9+ and Note 9 and created by a developer nicknamed AlexisXDA. Its latest version, Noble ROM 3.0, therefore marks the arrival of One UI 5.0.
A slightly retouched version
To achieve this, the developer used versions of Android 13 intended for the Galaxy Note 10 Lite and the Galaxy S20, modified to work as it should on the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9.
Although Samsung is now a benchmark in Android in terms of software monitoring, the fact is that when a device is no longer monitored by the manufacturer, but remains perfectly functional, the inability to access newer versions of the interface can be a problem. little frustrating. That’s the goal of these ROMs, to provide a longer lifespan for devices that shouldn’t be thrown away.
If you are interested in this ROM, it only works on versions equipped with an Exynos 9810, which is usually the case with the French versions.
