Motorola introduces a host of new smartphones, including the G53. Offered next month starting at 200 euros, its technical sheet is quite attractive given the price: Android 13, 5G and 120 Hz screen.

In anticipation of the MWC that will take place at the end of February, Motorola presented several models of smartphones: the E13, G13, G23 and G53. They are all entry-level phones, but one of them may call our attention: the G53. It has some arguments going for it that could make it a very good $200 phone.
The Motorola G53 is entitled to a 120 Hz screen
This Motorola smartphone is equipped with a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD panel that benefits from a good 120Hz refresh rate. If 120Hz isn’t a priority for everyone, it’s pretty rare to underscore it on a basic model. On the audio side, we are entitled to Dolby Atmos via the stereo speakers.

In the photographic section we have some details: there is a 50 Mpx main photosensor accompanied by a 2 Mpx macro sensor. Although we haven’t tested the latter, there’s a good chance it’s usable at best and useless at worst. Also, there is a fingerprint reader on the power button on the side.
Android 13 is coming to the entry level
If the latest version of Android begins to roll out little by little on models from different brands, the entry market will not benefit for the time being. Samsung is an exception in the market by betting on a rapid deployment of One UI 5, its interface based on Android 13. The Motorola G53 is also delighting since it will take advantage of Android 13, and this, as soon as it is released.

An OS that works thanks to the Snapdragoon 480+ SoC (which offers 5G), as well as 4 GB of RAM. For storage, two versions are available: 64 or 128 GB, it can be expanded up to an additional 1 TB via microSD card. In connectivity, the Motorola G53 is entitled to two SIMs: one SIM and one eSIM. Everything is powered by a 5000 mAh battery.
Price and availability
The Motorola G53 will be available next February in the unique blue color in two versions:
- A version with 64 GB of storage at 199 euros
- A version with 128 GB of storage at 249 euros
