OnePlus’ next offensive in the mid-range segment could take place during the summer of 2023. And more precisely between June and July, if we are to believe the information provided by my smart price. In fact, the media think they know the launch date, in India, of the OnePlus Nord CE 3.
As a reminder, this range of OnePlus phones seeks to offer a classic but solid alternative, all for less than 400 euros. Last year, the OnePlus Nord CE 2 -made official in February 2022- convinced us in general, without dazzling us either: the proposal was dominated… but without risking standing out.
Test phases in progress
So its successor, the OnePlus Nord CE 3, will try to raise the bar. my smart price it also indicates that testing phases are currently underway in India. The device was even given a code name: Larry. In November 2022, a major leak revealed a number of features related to this model. It should be noted that its screen would undergo profound changes, with a larger 6.7-inch diagonal for a higher refresh rate of 120 Hz. On the other hand, OnePlus would change OLED… for IPS LCD technology.
This choice may seem surprising, but the idea here is to offer a larger viewing surface thanks to a larger screen, as well as a more fluid feel that 120Hz brings. In order not to blow up the note and contain the price of the phone, then LCD would be preferred over OLED. A small risk taken by OnePlus if this is the case.
A game of muscles
On the processor side, there could be the Snapdragon 695, accompanied by a triple photosensor: 108 megapixels for the main camera, 2 megapixels for the macro and depth sensors – we necessarily doubt the usefulness of the last two. For its part, the 5000 W battery would be recharged thanks to a powerful 67 W block.
There is no apparent reason for the OnePlus Nord CE 3 not to launch in France. In fact, its predecessor had been marketed by us. Therefore, we hope that the 2023 vintage will welcome it with open arms: it will be necessary for the occasion to reinforce its game, since it must be endowed with the beautiful references belonging to the mid-range.
OnePlus China president Li Jie indicated on Weibo that there was no OnePlus 11 Pro in the program this year. And given the spec sheet for the classic OnePlus 11, that might make sense.
