If the Tesla Model Y offers a lot of usable volume, some point to a lack of practical storage to organize your belongings. Also, some customization elements may be missing, either inside or out. That is why we are going to share with you our selection of the most useful accessories, between protections, trunks, hubcaps or trunk mats, you will surely find what you need below.
Tesla Model Y: interior accessories
Storage
The Tesla Model Y’s center console is certainly roomy, but it lacks practicality. To properly organize your personal effects, a sliding tray is available for less than 20 euros. Similarly, under the armrest, the space is deep, but it will quickly become disorganized without a tray to separate the compartments. A multi-piece kit to organize the entire center console is available for around 40 euros.
The Tesla Model Y’s seats are quite high in the front, allowing the space between the floor and the bottom of the seat to be used to slide out drawers, particularly for storing some personal belongings. Count around 40 euros per unit. Finally, for around 40 euros, a storage box made to measure for the space between the two seats in the first row is available, which allows you to neatly organize the small accessories that you need to have close at hand.
Facilities
The mats originally supplied by Tesla are not the most effective, especially during winter periods when it is more common to carry water or dirt. There are much better quality carpets available for the interior, around 150 euros. They are waterproof and easy to clean, while fitting perfectly to the contours of the cabin.
If the Tesla Model Y Performance already has an aluminum pedal set, this is not the case with the Long Range or Propulsion versions. For around 25 euros, a set of pedals that replace the original rubber ones is available, with the added bonus of choosing the colour.
Tesla Model Y: trunk accessories

The volume of the trunk of the Tesla Model Y is gigantic, which makes it possible in particular to accommodate large objects, even bicycles or other electric scooters. To avoid damaging or dirtying the trunk lining, waterproof and easy-to-clean protective mats are available for around 130 euros (front trunk, rear trunk and under trunk).
Storage
With such a bulky trunk, small objects will necessarily wander from side to side during cornering or acceleration phases. There are two rather deep compartments on each side of the rear trunk, but they are not protected or covered. For around 60 euros, two containers with their custom-made lids are available, to ensure that small fragile items are well secured.
The new deliveries of the Tesla Model Y include a rear shelf to hide luggage in the trunk, but this is not the most practical. There is an alternative in the form of a more conventional sliding storage shelf for around 100 euros.
Finally, to make better use of the front trunk, hooks are available for about 17 euros, and they ensure that the suitcases are well secured so that they do not tip over.
Tesla Model Y: useful protections
The display in Tesla vehicles is the centerpiece that controls everything. When transporting things frequently in the front, it is not impossible that an accident will happen and the glass slab will be damaged. Fortunately, tempered glass protections are available for less than 25 euros.
If kicking the doors is your obsession, or if you don’t want to leave traces on the foamed plastic inside, the stickers that visually take up the same material as the original are available for less than 20 euros. This will ensure you have original upholstery like new, even your passengers are not the most careful.
For about 30 euros you can protect the trunk threshold, which is usually damaged when loading or unloading luggage. If this concerns you, it’s best to invest in protection from the start, which keeps the original part in like-new condition.
Tesla Model Y: outdoor accessories
Tesla offers various accessories for its vehicles in its online store. Among them, one is particularly useful on the Model Y: a protective film. Cut to partially cover the tailgate, it is used to avoid a weak spot on the Tesla Model Y. In fact, small road debris and other dirt easily accumulate in this precise spot, which can alter the paintwork. For 60 euros you will have enough to protect both sides.
Also for paint and bodywork protection, a set of two plastic fenders is available for 43 euros. In particular, for owners who frequently drive on salty roads in winter, it is strongly recommended to install them so as not to damage the lower parts of your Tesla Model Y.
Vehicle customization isn’t Tesla’s forte, so many manufacturers rack their brains to offer a variety of accessories. If you’re not particularly fond of the original 19-inch wheels on Model Y, be aware that there are different hubcaps than those shipped with the vehicle. Thus, for less than 200 euros you can find them that modify the appearance of the vehicle, in different colors.
Tesla Model Y: storage for sentinel mode and music
If Teslas now ship with a 32GB USB key by default, this is often not enough to store media and video from the integrated camera or sentinel mode. Then two options are possible, depending on the volume of data you need to store. The cheap solution is to buy a small microSD card reader, with a 128 GB card for example. The second possibility is to take one of the most popular external SSDs of the moment, and connect it to the USB port in the glove compartment.
