AMOLED screen and 108 megapixel photo sensor
As for the design, there is not much to say, except that the Poco X5 Pro takes up the DNA of this Xiaomi sub-brand with an impressive photo block on the back. Three cameras are built into the left side, but the black rectangle extends to the far right to display and highlight the Poco logo. Among the qualities in the spotlight, let’s mention the thickness of only 7.9 mm (for 162.91 mm high and 76.03 mm wide). The weight is also very moderate: 181 grams.
On the front, the smartphone boasts its 6.67-inch Amoled screen protected by Gorilla Glass 5 glass. The panel benefits from Full HD+ definition and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz.
Another key argument of the Poco X5 Pro: its main 108-megapixel photographic sensor with a size of 1/1.52 inches. Therefore, the brand promises more beautiful night shots thanks to the famous technique of pixel binning that fuses pixels together to capture more light. A 108 Mpx mode is obviously available for users. Xiaomi also emphasizes faster algorithmic image processing than the previous generation.
In addition, for the photo, also take into account the presence of an 8 Mpx ultra-wide angle and a sensor dedicated to the 2 Mpx macro. On the front, the selfie camera offers a definition of 16 Mpx.
A powerful chip under the hood
To honor its lineage, the Poco X5 Pro must have a relatively powerful chip for its price range. To fulfill this mission, the device is equipped with a Snapdragon 778G 5G accompanied by LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 internal storage (expandable up to 1TB).
The manufacturer claims that this SoC offers the right balance between power and good energy efficiency. For this last point, you will also have to rely on a 5000 mAh battery that can be quickly recharged with the supplied 67 W charger.
The 5G network, NFC and the 3.5 mm jack are there. For the software part, it is the MIUI 14 interface that is in the controls.
Xiaomi Poco X5 Pro 5G price and release date
The Xiaomi Poco X5 Pro 5G is already available for sale in France in three colors (black, yellow or blue). There are two configurations:
- 349 euros for the model with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage;
- 399 euros for the 8/256 GB version.
