The new Samsung Galaxy A54 (5G compatible) has just launched in France, with a pair of Galaxy Buds 2 on offer to celebrate the launch. As usual, the official charger is not included in the smartphone box, but Amazon fixes this by adding it for free.
Since Apple plays green by taking the charger out of the box for its iPhones, many manufacturers have followed suit. Samsung is one of them, although some of its budget smartphones still have a power supply. Obviously, the premium models are not spared, just like the mid-range ones, as evidenced by the new Galaxy A54 just launched today in France. Fortunately, some e-merchants have a bit of experience in giving consumers what they really want, and this is currently the case with Amazon.
Where to buy the Samsung Galaxy A54 5G?
On the official website, the Samsung Galaxy A54 is sold for 499 euros in its 8+128 GB version and 549 euros for the 256 GB storage model, with the Buds 2 wireless headphones offered for launch until April 30. However, we do not recommend that you buy it from the manufacturer’s site, since you will not have a charger in the box. For the same price and conditions, Amazon offers the official 25W charger.

Samsung Galaxy A54 5G: a good luxury move
Like its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy A54 doesn’t really take any design risks, but adds some interesting new features. First of all, the screen, still AMOLED Full HD+ at 120 Hz, goes from a diagonal of 6.5 to only 6.4 inches, which induces a form factor more compact and more comfortable in the hand. Then, it is in the back where we will find a difference in size, since it is made of glass, and not plastic. A much more premium effect, therefore, which makes us think even more that spending more than 500 euros on a smartphone is not really justified.
Still on the back of the smartphone, we can see the photo module completely integrated into the smartphone casing, as is the case with the new Samsung Galaxy S23. The three sensors are highlighted individually in the upper left corner. This is not the only novelty, since the Galaxy A54 now has a 50-megapixel main sensor, supposedly to allow better quality night photos. The latter is accompanied by a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens and a 5-megapixel macro lens to add a bit of versatility to the whole set. As for the selfie camera, it is 32 megapixels, arranged in a punch.
In terms of raw performance, the Galaxy A54 promises to be smoother than its predecessor thanks to the new Exynos 1380 chip. In fact, the A53, while very well balanced, lacked responsiveness. We were able to take control of Samsung’s new mid-range smartphone, and it’s true that the difference between the two is quickly noticeable. On the autonomy side, you can count on a 5000 mAh battery, which should probably be able to last more than a day with intensive use (Samsung announces two days). And for charging, it’s a maximum of 25 W, like on the S23. On the other hand, there is no wireless charging on the horizon.
Another point that suggests that the Galaxy A54 is definitely moving closer to premium is thanks to its IP67 certification, which makes it resistant to water and dust. There’s also eSIM support, a feature usually reserved for high-end Samsung.
