The FCC website has published information about a new smartphone from Google. In all likelihood, this would be the Pixel 7a, which should launch in the next few months.

This year should be a particularly busy one for Google in the area of smartphones and tablets. In addition to the classic Pixel 8 and 8 Pro expected in the fall, the firm should officially launch its Pixel Tablet, but it’s also expected to power up its first foldable smartphone, the Pixel Fold. Suffice to say that it could be a pivotal year for the company.
We already know that Google could launch a new device in the spring. In fact, as reported by the site android police, the FCC – the US authority in charge of certifying electronic devices – has published on its site information about a new device designed by Google. In fact, there would be three devices referenced under different model numbers, but with identical characteristics, that were seen by the specialized Android news site: the GWKK3, the G0DZQ and the GHL1X.
However, all three would feature the same motherboard with only a few notable variations, such as millimeter wave 5G support for only one of the models. So we might have to deal with variations based on storage, connectivity, or even carriers. However, everything indicates that it is actually the next Google smartphone, usually presented during the spring, the Pixel 7a.
A probable announcement in May
Traditionally, FCC certification of a device is one of the last steps for manufacturers before the product goes on sale and is officially announced. If it seems logical that the Pixel 7a will be presented in the coming months, during the Google I / O conference -generally organized in May-, it is less likely that the firm will already certify one of its smartphones whose launch is expected in the fall. , either Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro or Pixel Fold.
Remember that the Pixel 7a should be the next mid-range smartphone from Google. Like previous iterations of the “A” range, it should have a slightly slower chip, but still enjoy excellent image quality, on par with higher-end models. The smartphone has also already been leaked with 3D renders, information about wireless charging or the photosensor and even a potential telephoto lens, a first for a Google Pixel A smartphone.
