The Pixel Fold, or Pixel NotePad, is clearly one of our main expectations for 2023. At the moment, multiple signs make us think that a launch would take place this year, to come and step on the flower beds of a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold. 4 too only on the folding market (in book format).

Leaks about the Pixel Fold have been intensifying for several months. And this time it’s the turn of youtuber Dave2D (3.6 million subscribers) to do his bit. Indeed, the person concerned has published a video in which he says that he has a fictitious model of the famous Google Pixel Fold.

The cameraman specifies that it is supposed to accurately render the phone, at least in its dimensions. The opportunity for him to imagine the first physical contours of the device and to suggest an interesting first fact: the two internal faces of the phone would perfectly stick together when the device is folded.

Large borders on the menu?

A postulate that cannot be attributed to the Galaxy Z Fold 4, which suggests a slight gap between its two sides when folded. on the contrary of the Oppo Find N2. Dave2D then suggests that the internal screen will accommodate a selfie camera… in a particularly thick 5mm top bezel.

This choice could be explained for two reasons: firstly, it would prevent Google from integrating a punch in the middle of the large 7.67-inch internal screen that could otherwise spoil the viewing experience. Secondly, the interested party mentions financial reasons, since this would reduce costs.

As a reminder, some rumors are betting on a much more attractive final price than the Galaxy Z Fold 4: in total, $500 could separate this model from the Pixel Fold. The idea is to enter the folding market with a product that seeks to break the tariff codes that until now have been imposed by Samsung, the only one in this segment.

The 5.79-inch external screen could also be wider than the one on the Galaxy Z Fold 4. The rear of the phone would also house a total of three external cameras, in a rectangular module placed horizontally. A bit like the Pixel Fold in short.

It would be slimmer than the Z Fold 4… when unfolded

The thickness of the unfolded phone would reach 5.7mm (8.7mm if measured from the photo module), which would make it a relatively thin device. As a reminder, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is 6.3mm thick when unfolded. At this point, Google would win the round against Samsung.

Dave2D finally mentions two speakers, one placed on the top edge and the other on the bottom edge. Now we will have to wait until the official announcement, although the leaks should point with the tip of the nose by then to tell us more about it.
