The trail of a 15-inch MacBook Air is still making headlines with Apple’s addition of a new Mac to an organizational database of the Bluetooth standard. It could be this new product.
We’ve talked about it many times, Apple would be doing just fine on a 15- or 15.5-inch MacBook Air, depending on sources. And if it’s not the subject of any official confirmation at this stage, the device is regularly talked about through indirect means. This week, we learn, for example, fromApple Insider that Apple has filed information about a possible new Mac model in the database of the Bluetooth Special Interest Groupof which Apple is a part.
According to the specialized media, this mysterious device could correspond to the new MacBook Air XXL, whose mass production has already begun if certain information is to be believed.
The 15-inch MacBook Air: a tenacious rumor
However, one must take tweezers, because at the moment, this addition to the SOGI database is not really explicit. For now, Apple is content to mention the rather generic support for Bluetooth 5.3.
In addition, the device does not yet appear in the public results of the database. And for good reason, it hasn’t been submitted to the Bluetooth qualification process yet. Having said that, and this is what we remember, the incorporation by Apple of this first information was made on February 18 and it is a ” specialized design ”, which returns according toApple Insiderto a product that works well on macOS.
An additional clue that comes to us a few days after the discovery of three new Macs registered with the EEC (Eurasian Economic Commission).
However, there is no guarantee that this new Mac presented to SOGI is in fact the new 15-inch MacBook Air. In fact, this presentation could correspond to the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro, launched in January, along with the new Mac mini M2.
Still, if the MacBook Air 15 is being produced on a large scale, we should be faced with more concrete proof of its existence very soon. Be patient.
