Samsung is making a comeback to the entry-level smartphone market after the launch of the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S23. The manufacturer announces, among other things, the Galaxy A14 4G and Galaxy A14 5G. Two entry-level smartphones that have some notable differences.

Samsung is king again with the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra, a great crop of critically acclaimed (including ours). But the manufacturer is not far behind in other ranges of smartphones: it returns to the entry level with a Galaxy A14 4G at 220 euros, along with the Galaxy A14 5G, which costs a little more.
A premium design (at least at the rear)
What we immediately notice with the Samsung Galaxy A14 4G is its back, which is reminiscent of the Galaxy S23. There are three photo sensors on the back and the inscription of the brand – to this is added a lining with fine vertical grooves. The angles are very rounded, but the edges are quite pronounced, suggesting a good grip. Samsung has really wanted to homogenize its ranges of smartphones and assumes the design heritage of the Galaxy S23.

On the other hand, we have a screen with rather pronounced edges, and this, in particular, at chin level. I’m not sure Samsung will keep up with the fierce competition at this point and at this price. The selfie sensor is housed in a notch called Infinity V, larger than the one found on the Galaxy A34s, which is called Infinity U.

Note that the Samsung Galaxy A14 4G has a repairability rating of 8.8 – according to Samsung, this is one of the best scores it has ever gotten. The latter also promises 2 years of Android updates and 4 years of security updates, which is the norm.
