On the occasion of Peugeot e-Lion Day, the French manufacturer has just presented its electric car roadmap for the coming months. Including the formalization of the Peugeot e-3008, the first 100% electric version of the French star SUV, with a range of up to 700 km. But we have the right to doubt this excellent figure.

Within the Stellantis group, in terms of the electrification of the range, Peugeot is undoubtedly the best equipped today, specifically with two star products, the Peugeot e-208 and the Peugeot e-2008, the first being the model best-selling electric in France last year with 19,919 records.
The Sochaux manufacturer intends to continue electrifying its catalogue, and this year the long-awaited Peugeot e-308 and its SW break variant will be presented. This model will aim to rub shoulders with its longtime competitor, the Renault Mégane. It remains to be seen if it will be up to the level, the third generation of the 308 was not originally intended as an electric carquite the opposite of the Mégane E-Tech.
This year we will also see the Peugeot e-408 arrive, although its launch still does not seem certain in the short and medium term. The car was already presented last year.
The best-selling SUV in France will be electric
But the biggest news will be released in the second half of 2023. Peugeot has formalized the arrival of the third generation of its best seller, the Peugeot 3008the undisputed king of SUV sales in the C segment in France since its launch in 2016.
For the first time, the Peugeot 3008 will have the right to a 100% electric version that will logically be called e-3008. Later it will also be followed by its version with seven seats and called e-5008. Obviously, Peugeot has still remained a bit evasive about its new SUV, but the manufacturer is already announcing very interesting numbers. including a range of up to 700 km.
700 km of autonomy right?
We imagine that it will surely be the most luxurious version. However, it remains to be seen if it will be the consumption estimated by Peugeot or the one that will be approved under the WLTP cycle. Remember that Stellantis has recently made a specialty of ambitious figures, especially in terms of consumption, by dividing the battery capacity by autonomy. Which gives a very low consumption by not taking into account all the criteria.as the loss of energy, something that highlights the consumption once approved under the WLTP cycle.
This gives rise, as in the case of the new Peugeot e-208 for example, to differences of the order of 2 to 3 kWh/100 km between WLTP consumption and that previously announced by Peugeot, that is, around 20% difference. . As Peugeot does not specify it, it is very likely that the official WLTP autonomy is not 700 km, but about 550 km maximum.
A completely new platform for the group.
The lion maker also specifies that the e-3008 will be the first car launched on the new STLA Medium platform, while it will benefit from three engines. There is also a small subtlety in the press release, since this sentence does not expressly mention the e-3008.
Will it be three classic engines, that is, thermal, rechargeable hybrids and electric, or three different electric engines, that is, certainly with three power levels? Answer within a few months.
Peugeot also recalls its commitments in the field of electricity, with a 100% electric range by 2025Y 100% of Peugeot sold in Europe will be 100% electric by 2030.
